Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files are processed only in your browser and are gone when you close the page. The one exception is Timestamp PDF, which sends the document's hash, not the document itself.
Do I need to pay or sign up?
No. Every tool is free and there are no accounts.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit; it depends on your device's memory. A typical computer handles PDFs of a few hundred MB; on phones, smaller files work best.
Why is the first tool slow to open?
The first time, the browser downloads the PDF engine (the light build is about 1.3 MB compressed; advanced features load the full build). After that it is cached and fast. The CJK font is also downloaded only when needed.
Will Word or Excel to PDF look exactly like the original?
Text, headings, lists, tables (including merged cells) and image positions are kept, but it is not a pixel-perfect copy; fonts and some formatting may differ.
Can I process password-protected PDFs?
Yes. Most tools have a password field for the open password, or you can remove it first with Unlock PDF.
Where are favorites and history stored?
Only in this browser (localStorage). They are never sent anywhere and are cleared along with your browser data.
Which browsers are supported?
Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari (WebAssembly is required).
