About PageSmith

PageSmith is a free PDF toolbox where everything happens inside your browser.

Your files stay on your device

The PDF engine is written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly, so it runs right in the browser. Merging, splitting, converting, encrypting… nothing is uploaded to a server.

The few features that go online

OCR downloads its language data the first time you use it (a model download; your file is not sent). Timestamping sends the document's hash, not the document, to the timestamp server you pick.

Free, no sign-up, no watermarks

No account and no usage limits. Nothing is stamped on your output files.

Open-source parts

The PDF engine uses open-source crates from storytold/pdfcraft (MIT / Apache-2.0); the CJK font is justfont's jf open huninn (SIL OFL 1.1); icons come from Lucide (ISC).
